BitMento DSA
An adaptive data structures and algorithms module inside the BitMento ecosystem, built around diagnosing what a learner actually knows.
- Status
- Architecture designed, part of the BitMento ecosystem
- Year
- 2026
A representative design of the idea, not a screenshot of a finished product.
My role
- Designed the module architecture and the learner journey.
- Planned the shared sign-in and database approach so it connects cleanly to the main BitMento product.
DSA is where many learners stall: a long list of topics with no sense of where to start or what is already solid.
Why it mattered
A diagnostic first step turns a generic syllabus into a personal path, which is the difference between grinding and progressing.
- Diagnose first, then build a path from the gaps.
- Pair reading with a code editor and visual explanations of how algorithms move.
- Close each topic with a Socratic check before the learner moves on.
What it does
- Flow: AI diagnostic, adaptive path, multi-modal learning surface, mastery gate.
- In-browser code editor with code execution through a sandboxed API.
What I wanted to build: A DSA path that begins by finding out what the learner already knows.
How it came together
- Designed the diagnostic, path and mastery-check flow, then wrote the prompts that drive each stage.
What I did
- Defined the requirements and the user journey before any code was generated.
- Made the design and product decisions, and reviewed what the tools produced.
- Tested, debugged and decided what to keep, rewrite or cut.
- Configured the services and handled deployment.
Where AI tools helped
- AI tools drafted and refactored code from structured prompts, and I iterated on the results.
Services connected
- Shared sign-in and database with the main BitMento product, Monaco code editor, sandboxed code execution API.
Working today
- Architecture and learner flow are designed.
Still prototype or planned
- Full module build is still ahead.
Written from my own account of the build.
- Designing a diagnostic that is short enough to finish and accurate enough to trust.
Architecture and learner flow are designed. This module is part of BitMento, not a separate company.
Good adaptive learning starts with a good first ten minutes.
